American streaming service Sling TV brings “Cloud DVR” service to the Apple TV
The American television streaming service Sling TV has brought its new show recording service on the cloud “Cloud DVR” to its Apple TV application. For a monthly fee of 5 dollars, subscribers can record 50 hours of content on the cloud.
Cloud DVR supports “conflict-free recording”, a feature which enables users to record multiple shows at the same time. Users can record as many shows as they like and the recordings can be kept indefinitely. Sling TV will however delete the oldest recordings as the limit of 50 recorded hours gets nearer.
Users cannot record channels from the ESPN, Fox and Disney networks. This isn’t a problem for ESPN aficionados who get their own Apple TV application, but the fact that those channels aren’t compatible with the service may be a turn-off for some would-be users.
